DISC AsiaPlus Live in Practice: Ask, Apply & Advance

Episode 1 | Recorded 3 March 2026

Welcome to the first episode of DISC AsiaPlus Live – Ask, Apply & Advance, a monthly tutorial and support session created especially for our global community of DISC AsiaPlus accredited users.

This series was designed to provide ongoing guidance, practical insights, and a platform for discussion as practitioners continue applying the DISC AsiaPlus framework in coaching, leadership development, organisational development, and team facilitation.

Over the years, DISC AsiaPlus has been adopted by practitioners across several countries including Singapore, Hong Kong, China, Malaysia, Mongolia and India. As the community grows, the need for continued learning and shared experiences becomes increasingly important.

The Ask, Apply & Advance sessions were therefore introduced to help accredited users deepen their understanding of the model, refine their facilitation approaches, and explore new applications of DISC AsiaPlus in real organisational settings.

Each monthly session focuses on practical questions raised by practitioners and explores how the DISC AsiaPlus framework can be applied to real-world challenges in leadership, communication, and team dynamics.

Topics Covered in This Episode

In this first session, we explore several foundational questions that practitioners often encounter when they begin applying the DISC AsiaPlus framework in their work.

1. Conducting DISC AsiaPlus Workshops After Certification
How can newly accredited practitioners design and conduct effective workshops for their staff, teams, or organisations?

We discuss practical approaches to introducing DISC AsiaPlus concepts, facilitating group discussions, and helping participants translate personality insights into actionable workplace behaviours.

2. Understanding Emotional Response and Its Impact
A distinctive feature of the DISC AsiaPlus framework is the integration of Emotional Response, which provides insight into an individual’s psychological and emotional tendencies.

In this session, we explore why emotional responses matter in personality interpretation and how understanding these patterns can improve leadership awareness, communication effectiveness, and personal resilience.

3. What Makes DISC Asia Plus Unique?
DISC AsiaPlus extends the traditional DISC behavioural model by incorporating additional psychological insights that help practitioners better understand how behaviour, motivation, and emotional patterns interact.

This expanded framework allows facilitators to work with personality insights in a deeper and more meaningful way when supporting individual and team development.

4. Applying Dialogue in Leadership and Team Development
Another distinctive element of DISC AsiaPlus is the integration of a dialogue framework inspired by the Four Player Model developed by David Kantor.

This model highlights four key roles in effective communication: Move, Follow, Oppose, and Bystand.

Understanding these dialogue dynamics allows leaders and facilitators to guide more productive conversations, manage conflict constructively, and strengthen collaboration within teams.

A Community of Practice

The DISC AsiaPlus Live – Ask, Apply & Advance sessions are designed to function as a community of practice, where accredited users can continue learning, share experiences, and refine how they apply the model in their professional work.

These sessions are conducted monthly via Zoom, on the first Tuesday of every month, and are facilitated in English to accommodate our international community of practitioners.
